Monday Moodboard

All about the colour and texture...

It's all about the textures today.

I'm currently working on a project in Bristol that was previously designed by Jano Williams several years ago and is ready for a revisit. When I carried out a site visit, I was blown away by the magnificent cherry trees that are in the garden. The spring blossom is in total contrast to the textural dark bark, creating breath-taking focal points within the garden.

The moodboard is always a starting point for my garden designs, and here I have taken the dark bark and reflected it in the choice of dark brown pots. The fresh green Hakonechloa ties in with the Japanese feel of the garden and also picks up on the zingy green of the new leaves.

I am so excited to see this project come to life - I will keep you posted!

It's always nice to see one of my gardens in the press - and a big thanks to Bath Life for featuring this city garden that was completed during lockdown. Despite supply chain problems, access difficulties and the fact that our initial meetings were over Zoom, we nailed it!

A gorgeous garden for entertaining, which the client loves. Result!
